Anime Expo 2024: ytv animation Releases Blue Miburo Trailer and Concept Movie Prior to the World Premiere

Ahead of the world premiere screening at Anime Expo, Yomiuri TV released a new key visual, the first PV trailer, and extended cast list for their upcoming series Blue Miburo. Along with Blue Miburo’s official Instagram and TikTok launching; a “Concept Movie” that summarizes the setting, themes, and characters behind this historical anime also made its debut today. Set for a full release this fall, Blue Miburo offers a fresh take on the iconic Shinsengumi for modern audiences, and provides a character driven exploration of the end of Japan’s famed Edo period. 

Serialized in Weekly Shonen MagazineThe Blue Miburo  is the latest manga from Tsuyoshi Yasuda, the mangaka behind the soccer manga DAYS; which has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide! The anime will be directed by Kumiko Habara (I’m Standing on a Million Lives) and with Hiroya Nakata (My Hero AcademiaLove All Play) acting as the Animation Producer. The score was composed by Yuki Hayashi, the composer of the beloved “You Say Run” track from My Hero Academia. Rapper OZ world adds lyrics to this passionate score. The newly released key visual features the moment where the main characters dawn the “dandara haori,” the symbol of the Shinsengumi, for the first time.

“The Blue Miburo World Premiere presented by ytv animation” panel is set for July 4th at Anime Expo. This preview event will take place in room 403AB and run from 10:30am to 11:20pm. Attendees can expect to watch an early look at this latest historical anime, rare insight into the production process from attending staff, and even giveaways related to the Shinsengumi that inspire this series!
