Oni Press will launch a new four-issue Sesame Street comic series in August, the company announced. This will be the first release under the new license for Oni. APE Entertainment was the most recent comics licensee for Sesame Street; a handful of comics were released in late 2015 and early 2016 (see “’Sesame Street’ Comics Return”).
Sesame Street #1 will be a 24-page comic written by Joey Esposito, with art by Austin Baechle. Future issues will feature self-contained stories written by Stephanie Williams and Mary Kenney, and art by Beth Hughes, Michela Cacciatore, and Alison Acton.
Covers for the first issue will be by Baechle (A), Erin Hunting (B), a coloring book variant by Baechle, and a 1:10 variant by Justasuta.
Street date is August 28; MSRP is $3.99.
