Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Catch a bounty of Bounsweet, complete Special Research, and enjoy the fruits of your labor by evolving a Steenee into a Tsareena that knows a featured attack.
Pokémon GO’s May Community Day is going to be juiced up thanks to the Fruit Pokémon Bounsweet. On Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Bounsweet will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny one! Evolve Steenee (Bounsweet’s Evolution) during the event or up to five hours afterward to get a Tsareena that knows the Charged Attack High Jump Kick.
But that’s not all! You’ll also be able to enjoy these sweet bonuses during the event.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 1/4 Hatch Distance for Eggs that are placed in Incubators during the event period.
- 2× chance for Trainers Level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Community Day).
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day (from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Community Day).
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day and you might discover a surprise!
You can take part in Community Day research, including themed Field Research tasks and a Special Research story. Complete Field Research tasks to earn rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, Bounsweet encounters, and more. The Community Day Special Research story is available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Tickets are available for purchase in the in-game shop, and you can even purchase a ticket for a friend with whom you have a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.
Make the most of the Community Day fun with four-star Raid Battles featuring Steenee from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. After a successful raid, more Bounsweet will appear for 30 minutes around the Gym that hosted the raid. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used to join these four-star raids—they can only be joined with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes.
Don’t let Community Day be a fruitless endeavor, Trainers. Have a “Berry” good time catching bushels of Bounsweet!
