Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was the top movie at the weekend box office with an estimated $56.5 million. Internationally, the film did even better with $72.5 million delivering $129 million worldwide.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes opened with $54.8 million domestically and went on to gross $481.8 million in 2011. In 2014, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opened with $72.6 million and eventually grossed $710.6 million worldwide. War for the Planet of the Apes opened with $56.3 million in 2017 and went on to gross $490.7 million worldwide.
The Fall Guy fell to second place in its second weekend grossing $13.7 million to bring its domestic total to $49.7 million. Internationally, the film grossed $17.1 million over the week to bring that to a little over $54 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $103.7 million.
Challengers held steady in third place with $4.7 million to bring its domestic total to $38.1 million. Over the week, the film grossed $7.8 million internationally to bring that to $30.6 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $68.7 million.
Tarot held steady in fourth with $3.5 million to bring its domestic total to $12 million. Internationally, the film grossed $4.5 million over the week to bring that to $8.2 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $20.2 million.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire remained in fifth with $2.5 million to bring its domestic total to $191.8 million. Internationally, the film added $8.1 million over the week and has now grossed $366.9 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $558.7 million.
In comic film news…
Spy x Family Code: White added about $1 million to its domestic total over the week. Domestically, the film has grossed $7.9 million. Internationally, the film added just under $1.1 million over the week and has grossed $51.3 million for a worldwide total of $59.3 million.
Madame Web‘s domestic gross remained at $43.8 million. Internationally, the film has grossed just under $56.5 million. The movie sits at $100.3 million.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the Hashira Training remained at $17.7 million domestically. Internationally, the film remained at $26.7 million. Worldwide the movie has grossed $44.4 million.
The week’s overall box office success…
Numbers have 32 films earning $93,273,336 from 33,133 theaters. That’s better than the previous weekend’s $73,894,026 from 37,965 theaters and 67 films. The average earning was $2,815.12 which is an increase from the previous weekend’s $1,946.37.
