Ghost Machine Adds Colorist, Letterer

In an unusual step for a new comics venture, Ghost Machine has added a colorist and a letterer as equity partners, exclusive to the company for future work.  The creators involved are colorist Brad Anderson and letterer Rob Leigh, who have already been working on Ghost Machine’s first titles.

Anderson and Leigh join the 11 creators already committed to work exclusively for Ghost Machine as equity partners: Jason Fabok, Gary Frank, Bryan Hitch, Geoff Johns, Lamont Magee, Francis Manapul, Brad Meltzer, Ivan Reis, Peter Snejbjerg, Peter J. Tomasi, and Maytal Zchut.

“Too often colorists and letterers are overlooked in this business and not given the same equity considerations as other creators despite them being vital to the quality, consistency and longevity of the titles and characters they are a part of manifesting,” the Ghost Machine creators said in a joint statement accompanying the announcement.  “We’re proud to continue to make new ground as creators and owners in this business we love but that needs to evolve.”

Ghost Machine launched at New York Comic Con last October (see “New Creator-Owned and Operated Company”). Ghost Machine #1 was released in January, and the first issues of three series, Geiger #1, Redcoat #1, and Rook: Exodus #1 were released (which quickly sold out and 2nd printings just released) in April.  Ghost Machine comics are published by Image Comics.
