Games Workshop marks a significant milestone next week with the release of the 500th issue of White Dwarf, its long-running Warhammer magazine. The issue will be a special 192-page edition featuring regular Warhammer articles, new scenarios, boarding action missions, and a historical look back at the magazine’s iconic covers.
To commemorate the 500th issue, Games Workshop will also release a new version of the White Dwarf character, Grombrindal. This limited edition miniature, redesigned with details from the Age of Sigmar, will be available for pre-order starting May 4, with sales running from May 18 to June 2, 2024.
Additionally, a special merchandise box will be offered starting May 1, containing themed items such as a Grombrindal t-shirt, a White Dwarf 500 hoodie, a faux-leather journal, and other collectibles featuring classic artwork.
In terms of hardware, the Legions Imperialis lineup will see the addition of new models including Stormhammers and Malcador Heavy Tanks for the Solar Auxilia, and multiple configurations for the Dracosan Transport Tanks. The Legiones Astartes will expand with Sicaran Battle Tanks and other rapid strike vehicles.
Games Workshop is also reintroducing a selection of classic “Orcs & Goblins” miniatures as Made to Order from May 4 to May 13. These include figures such as the Orc Shaman and Black Orc Big Boss, among others.
Other releases include new terrain for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game with the “Osgiliath – Ruined City of Gondor” set, and the introduction of “Darktide: The Miniatures Game,” featuring a scenario-based tabletop experience. The Black Library will also offer new publications including “Ciaphas Cain: Vainglorious” and regional editions of popular titles.
