DC Comics will collect the so-called “Triangle Era” Superman stories in a series of omnibi that will kick off in September 2024 with Superman: The Triangle Omnibus, Vol. 1. The omnibi will collect the stories published after John Byrne’s Superman run ended, when group editor Mike Carlin oversaw a tightly knit set of stories that ran across the four Superman titles, written by Dan Jurgens, Louise Simonson, Roger Stern, and Jerry Ordway, with art by Jurgens, Ordway, Jon Bogdanove, Bob McLeod, and others. The first volume includes Superman #49-63, Starman #28, Adventures of Superman #472-486, Action Comics #659-673, and Superman: The Man of Steel #1-8. The 1,364-page hardcover omnibus will go on sale on September 3, 2024, with an MSRP of $125.00.
This period was dubbed the “Triangle Era” because DC put a triangle on the front cover of each comic specifying the reading order for the many crossovers and subplots. At the Superman panel at New York Comic Con in 2022, writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson talked about using a similar strategy for upcoming comics, saying, “We’re giving everyone in the House of El their own role and personal journey while still keeping Superman at the forefront, and tying all the Super-titles together in a way that’s reminiscent of the Triangle Era.” the (see “NYCC: New Superman Series Coming in 2023”).
