Games Workshop has announced the launch of “Darktide: The Miniatures Game,” a new tabletop game derived from the “Warhammer 40,000: Darktide” video game. This addition to the Warhammer 40,000 universe allows players to engage in strategic gameplay on the tabletop, with a setting rooted in the hive city of Tertium, where a lethal pathogen has wreaked havoc.
The game is designed for up to four participants who will take on the roles of characters represented by miniatures reflecting the video game’s classes: the Veteran, the Zealot, the Ogryn, and the Psyker. These players will face adversaries such as the Traitor Guardsmen from the Moebian 6th regiment, equipped with various weapons and tactical gear.
Challenges increase with the presence of Poxwalkers, enemies that players must overcome as they attempt to manage the spread of corruption within the city. The game includes 20 miniatures, providing players with a range of characters to engage with during gameplay.
“Darktide: The Miniatures Game” incorporates elements from the Kill Team ruleset, making it accessible for both new and experienced players interested in exploring the Warhammer 40,000 setting. The game emphasizes tactical decision-making and character strategy, suitable for those familiar with Warhammer’s intricate gameplay dynamics.
