March Madness is well underway, but a different kind of Trailer Madness is happening in Hollywood. Time for a round-up!
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (see “’Ghostbusters’ Final Trailer“) had a big domestic opening of $45.2 million for Sony, according to Deadline. With the foreign take of $16.4 million the film grossed $61.6 million worldwide. Dune: Part 2 is hanging tough at #2, with a $16 million domestic gross for the weekend, bringing its total domestic box office through this fourth weekend to $231.7 million.
“The Juice is loose” at Warner Bros. Pictures after they dropped a teaser trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (see below). The long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 film hits theaters on September 6, 2024 (see “Best in Shows — 2024“).
Max released a teaser for The Penguin (see below). This series, which continues the story of Matt Reeves’ The Batman saga (see “‘The Penguin’ Deets“), will stream in fall 2024.
Max also unleashed dueling trailers for House of Dragon Season 2 (see below), each representing a side in the upcoming war for the Iron Throne in the series. The new season of this epic fantasy saga begins streaming on June 6, 2024 (see “‘GoT: House of Dragon’ S2“).
Disney+ revealed a new trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte (see below). This series, starring Carrie-Anne Moss, Lee Jung-jae and others (see “Trinity in ‘Star Wars’“), will begin streaming on June 4, 2024 with a two-episode premiere.
Warner Bros. Pictures released a second trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (see below). The film will head to theaters on May 24, 2024 (see “Furiosa“).
