CMON will release Dune: War for Arrakis, a new miniatures board game, into retail on March 22, 2024.
The new Dune war game was announced in 2022 as part of the sub-licensing deal between CMON and Gale Force Nine, Legendary Entertainment, and Herbert Properties LLC that was brokered by Genuine Entertainment’s Joe LeFavi (see “‘Dune: War for Arrakis’“). The game was crowd-funded, raising $1,334,501 from 11,449 backers (about $116 per backer). Now, it is headed to retail via Asmodee alongside one of its expansions, The Spacing Guild, just in time for the release of Dune: Part 2 (see “‘Dune: Part Two’ Trailers“). The expansion adds Guild Heighliners to the game, allowing players to play special Imperial Actions.
Dune: War for Arrakis is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 120 minutes. It will retail for $139.99. The Spacing Guild expansion will retail for $49.99 and requires the core game to play.
