Beckett Collectibles, which offers grading for comics, cards, and VHS tapes, among other items, is expanding its services to include manga. The company offers professional evaluation of condition, verification or authentication of signatures, and encapsulation. Standard price for grading is $30 per book, and encapsulation alone will cost $20. The service is available for tankobon (manga volumes) with dimensions no larger than 5.92” x 0.85” x 8.19”.
“Beckett is continuing its heritage in Manga that started with the Beckett Anime & Manga magazine,” said Bill Sutherland, Head of Beckett Manga, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Its entry into the world of Manga grading is set to revolutionize the way Manga collectors interact with their cherished collections.”
The expansion of slabbing categories continues apace; CGC announced DVD and Blu-ray slabbing last month (see “CGC Launches DVD and Blu-ray Grading“).
