Mad Cave Studios has hired Ana Escalera as their new Direct Market Sales Manager. Escalera will work alongside Director of Sales Kurt Nelson to work with retailers and raise the profile of Mad Cave comics and creators in the direct market.
Prior to coming to Mad Cave, Escalera was at IDW Publishing, where she started as a Warehouse Associate in 2017 and was promoted to Sales Assistant in 2020 and Sales Associate in 2021. She also worked at Barnes & Noble in San Diego for over two years, moving from Sales Associate to Children’s Department Lead to Receiving Manager in that time. She has an associate’s degree in graphic design from San Diego City College.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Nelson praised Escalera, saying, “We worked together at IDW and her skill set will be very much appreciated here at Mad Cave.”
