The $300,000 Worth of Stolen ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Cards Have Been Recovered

The $300,000 worth of Magic: The Gathering cards stolen from Gen Con 2023 has been recovered, according to WTHR local news in Indianapolis.

These cards were allegedly pilfered from the Gen Con vendor area before the convention opened on August 1, 2023 (see “Grand Theft at Gen Con 2023“), and were recovered with assistance from the New York State Police. The Indianapolis Metro Police Department also released a statement that they are no longer looking for the two persons of interest, Thomas Dunbar and Andrew Pearson Giaume (see “IMPD Seeks Persons of Interest“). They have been in contact with their attorneys, and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to file charges soon.
