Schmidt Spiele will release For One: Kniffel, a solitaire dice game by Reiner Knizia, which will debut at Spiel 2023.
Kniffel is the German version of the classic dice game Yahtzee. This special edition of Kniffel is built for solo play. The player must score as many points as possible rolling five dice each round, 17 total in the supply, by distributing them on a score card. The score card has certain objectives that score different numbers of points, and the players retain dice already scored once they complete the objective. The game continues until the player can no longer roll dice from the supply, and the goal of the game is to play as many rounds as possible to rack up a high score.
This game is for one person, ages 8 and up, and plays in 20 minutes.
Last year, Devir Games announced that it will publish Schmidt Spiele’s titles in English for the U.S. market (see “Devir Games and Schmidt Spiele Ink a Publishing Agreement“).
