Day 2 of the Pokémon Japan Championships 2023 now underway featuring Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE, tune in to the official livestream feeds here

The Pokémon Company is hosting the official Pokémon Japan Championships 2023. Read on below to learn more:

“Pokemon Japan Championships 2023” Game Division Overview

“Pokémon Japan Championships 2023 (hereinafter referred to as “PJCS2023″)” will be held!
Win through the Internet Tournament Preliminaries to the Main Battle and get the right to participate in the Live Tournament!

The “PJCS2023” game division is an official live tournament that determines the number one Pokemon battle in Japan in “Pocket Monster Scarlet Violet”.
The top players who have won the target Internet tournament qualifying to the main battle will be granted the right to participate in the final of the game division of the live tournament “PJCS2023” to be held in June.

* “Area/participation category” depends on the settings in [Battle Stadium].
* Only those whose region setting is “Japan” in [Battle Stadium] are eligible to participate in the “PJCS2023” game division.
* If you are playing both “Pocket Monsters Scarlet Violet” with one Nintendo account, you can enter the qualifying with each software, but only one participation right to the main battle is granted per Nintendo account .
* When participating in the “PJCS2023” final, the player’s participation area and participation category (age division) set in [Battle Stadium] when participating in the internet tournament from the preliminary to the main match at the reception on the day, and information on the player’s own identity verification document matching is required. If the in-game setting information and the content of the identity verification documents do not match, you will not be able to participate on the spot.
*Limited to those whose country of residence is “Japan”.

This is a double battle using Regulation C.

Junior Category: Born after 2011

Senior Category: Born in 2007 or later, before 2010

Master Category: Born before 2006

April 7-10 Internet tournament
“Pokemon Japan Championships 2023 Qualifier 1st”
The top 150 people in each category will be given the right to participate in the main battle

April 21-24 Internet tournament
“Pokémon Japan Championships 2023 Qualifiers 2nd”
The top 150 in each category will be given the right to participate in the main battle

May 5-8 Internet tournament
“Pokemon Japan Championships 2023 Qualifier 3rd”
The top 150 in each category will be given the right to participate in the main battle

▼ Main battle (only right holders can participate / advance entry system)

Held on May 14th, the invitation-only internet tournament
“Pokémon Japan Championships 2023 Main Battle”
will be given to the top 64 in each category to participate in the final.

Live tournament “Pokémon Japan Championships 2023” held on June 10th and 11th Game Division Finals

The Pokémon Company will send an e-mail to the registered e-mail address of the Nintendo account to the target participants of each of the above tournaments, notifying them that they have been granted the right to participate in the respective target tournament.
You do not need to reply to the e-mail if you have won the qualifying round and won the right to participate in the main battle.
If you win the main battle and win the right to participate in the final (live tournament), you will need to reply to confirm your intention to participate.

Before participating in an eligible competition,

・The email address registered in your Nintendo account・“Region/participation category”
set in [Battle Stadium]

Please check and correct.
Please note that we will not be able to respond individually due to inadequate registration e-mail address or “region/participation category” settings.
*If you have configured your device to take measures against spam emails or to receive emails from designated domains, please make sure that you can receive emails from [customer@pokemon-support.com] in advance.

For information on how to participate in each tournament for which participation rights are granted, please check the information for each online tournament.

*In-game [Pokeportal]→Press the L button to [Internet connection]→Press the + button to [Notifications] to check notifications. From your computer or smartphone, you can check the announcement at [https://sv-news.pokemon.co.jp/ja/list] .
*If the in-game display language is set to a language other than Japanese , the names of competitions for which participation rights are granted will be displayed as “Global Challenge 1”, “Global Challenge 2”, and “Global Challenge 3” respectively. Even if you participate in a tournament with these names, you will be eligible to participate in “PJCS2023” if the “Region / Participation Category” setting satisfies the conditions.
