Renegade Game Studios announced Good Omens: An Ineffable Game, a new card and dice game, which will hit retail on June 7, 2023.
This game is based on the Good Omens TV show, co-created by Neil Gaiman, that is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. The show is based on the darkly humorous, satirical literary masterpiece entitled Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, penned by Sir Terry Pratchett (see “R.I.P. Terry Pratchett“) and Gaiman. The novel details a mix-up during the birth of the antichrist and the unlikely partnership between an angel and a demon who work covertly to prevent the Apocalypse from coming to fruition. Along the way, the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse make their presence known, and chaos ensues as Satan attempts his ascension from the depths of Hell.
In the new game, players will be tasked with stopping the Apocalypse over the course of seven different battle games. The battles are a cooperative effort where players call upon both evil and good characters from the show to help them defeat the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Fight Heaven, Vanquish Hell, and prevent Armageddon.
“Being a huge fan myself, it was important that we capture the spirit of the show and I think that designer, Matt Hyra, came up with something fans will really enjoy,” said Scott Gaeta, President of Renegade Game Studios.
The game box comes with 52 playing cards (13 cards in 4 suits), 12 Character cards, 4 oversized player aid cards, 12 dice (4 sets of 3), 6 Agnes Nutter cards, and a rulebook. This game is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 15 to 30 minutes. It will retail for $25.00.
