Brian Michael Bendis is writing Fortune & Glory: The Musical, a new graphic memoir based on his time working on the Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Broadway musical, according to a story in The Hollywood Reporter. He plans to release the new material, which will feature art by his My Moments with Stan collaborator Bill Walko, on Substack, followed by a collection by Dark Horse Comics, according to the report. The new work will also feature covers and other limited art by Bendis.
Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, the most expensive Broadway production ever, was a troubled production with a turbulent writing history. Playwright Glen Berger, who collaborated on the initial book, wrote a tell-all account released in 2013 (see “Marvel Shaped Spidey Musical“).
