Water–Tera Type Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark can be caught only once per save data in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Pikachu to obtain other rewards if you’ve already caught it

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available for Nintendo Switch. Read on below to learn more about one of the latest in-game events:

Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark is appearing in black crystal Tera Raid Battles to commemorate Pokémon Day! You can join the festivities with Pikachu until Monday, February 27, 2023, at 14:59 UTC.

The Pikachu appearing during this event has Water as its Tera Type, and its torrent of attacks make it a formidable foe—it even has the Mightiest Mark to prove it!

Celebrate Pokémon day with your friends by teaming up to take down this powerful Tera Pokémon!

This special Pikachu can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Pikachu to obtain other rewards if you’ve already caught it.

This Pikachu may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.

7-star Tera Raid Battles: Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark

In a Tera Raid Battle, you’ll work together with three other Trainers to defeat a powerful Tera Pokémon before time runs out. The kinds of Pokémon encountered during Tera Raid Battle events will vary. Pokémon encountered in Tera Raid Battles may have a rare Tera Type.

• To participate in Tera Raid Battle events, please download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
• After completing certain postgame events, you’ll be able to find black Tera Raid crystals. However, players who haven’t completed these events may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer.
• A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online. Terms apply. Learn more at https://www.nintendo.com/switch-online.

Hang loose and coast over to a black Tera Raid crystal to challenge and catch a Water–Tera Type Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark.

Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark is surfing into black crystal Tera Raid Battles! You can try catching Pikachu from February 23, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. PST until Pokémon Day on February 27, 2023, at 6:59 a.m. PST. You’ll see plenty of Pikachu wandering around the Paldea region, but this one has Water as its Tera Type, making it a radical foe—it even has the Mightiest Mark to prove it!

For the opportunity to encounter this Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, you’ll need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. You can do this by connecting your Nintendo Switch system to the internet or by selecting Poké Portal in the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Get Poké Portal News. After that, whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon.

To challenge Pikachu, Trainers will need to either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events. This special Pikachu can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Pikachu if you’ve already caught it to obtain other rewards—including significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon and Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type.
