Warner Bros. aired a spot for The Flash in the big game, and also released a full trailer (below).  The new trailer gives Michael Keaton’s Batman a significant presence; the character was first teased last fall (see “’The Flash’ Teaser“).  Star Ezra Miller is in the process of wrapping up their legal issues (see “Ezra Miller Pleads Guilty“).

Paramount ran a :30 for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the next movie in the franchise (due out June 9) in the big game.  In the spot, a new Autobot makes his debut as a Porsche 911 Carrera, apparently part of a tie-in with Porsche for the movie.  A trailer was released in December (see “’Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Trailer“).

In a second spot for a Paramount film based on a Hasbro property, the studio also ran an ad for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.  A full trailer was released last month (see “New ‘D&D’ Trailer“).  A spot at big game prices is a big investment for the RPG-based film; the studio is pulling out all the stops to make it a success.  The film is due on March 31.

Marvel Studios released a new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 during the big game (it did not air).  Marvel first dropped a trailer about six months before release, in December (see “’Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer“).  The film will be released on May 5, 2023.

Marvel sister company Lucasfilm did air a TV spot for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the fifth film in the franchise, which will premiere on June 30, 2023.  Indy is his calendar age in the spot; de-aging technology was reportedly used on Harrison Ford for some scenes. A  trailer was first released in early December (see “Indy 5 Trailer“).

Amazon Studios has a Spider-Man Noir live action series in development, according to Variety.  Spider-Man Noir is based on the 2009 Marvel comic book of the same title that featured an alternate reality Spider-Man who lived during the Great Depression in the 1930’s.  This will be the second Amazon Prime Video and MGM+ series based on the Sony-controlled Marvel characters (see “Marvel-Sony Shows“).

Amazon Studios is also developing a Wytches series, according to Deadline.  The series will be based on Scott Snyder and Jock’s 2015 horror comic of the same title (from Image Comics), and produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Project 51 Productions. Plan B optioned this IP for adaptation back in 2014 (see “‘Wytches’ Optioned“).

Paramount Pictures tapped Emily Carmichael (Jurassic World: Dominion, Pacific Rim: Uprising) to pen Faith, based on the Valiant character Zephyr, according to Variety.  Zephyr originated in Harbinger, and received her own solo series in 2016 (see “Zephyr Gets Her Own Miniseries.”  This movie is still in early phases of development.
