DC’s newest Poison Ivy series, by writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Marcio Takara, has been promoted from a limited to an ongoing series. The series was originally planned for six issues, then was extended to 12 issues in December 2022. The first issue was number 8 on the ComicHub chart, which records point-of-sale data (see “Top 50 Comics – June 2022”), and every issue since then has been in the top 50, with the first four all staying in the top 25.
The current story arc will wrap up in Poison Ivy #12, which will go on sale on May 2, 2023, with a cover by regular cover artist Jessica Fong, variants by Jenny Frison and Xermanico, a 1:25 variant by Mateus Manhanini, and a 1:50 foil variant by Frison.
Poison Ivy #13 kicks off a new story arc with the return of Pamela Isley to Gotham City. The comic will be released on June 6, 2023, with a main cover by Fong, variants by Kai Carpenter and Frank Cho, a 1:25 variant by Mindy Lee, a 1:50 foil variant by Carpenter and a DC Pride variant by Claire Roe.
Poison Ivy Vol. 1: The Virtuous Cycle, which collects the first story arc from Poison Ivy #1-6, will be released on May 16, 2023, as a 192-page hardcover with an MSRP of $24.99.
