Whodunnit? It’s a question often asked when there’s murder most foul. If you’re looking to add some murder mystery to your tabletop sessions, check out Line of Enquiry, an RPG zine all about figuring out if the butler did it or not.
From the campaign:
Line of Enquiry is a rules lite system, guide book and starter scenario for people wanting to play murder mystery RPGs, particularly in a gritty, investigative, procedural style, regardless of the game system they choose to use.
In Line of Enquiry, the focus is on players solving the mystery by examining clues and chasing leads, as opposed to abstraction through character sheets, meta currencies and dice rolls. Taking inspiration from investigation board games like Consulting Detective, Line of Enquiry seeks to take that player first investigation style and inject into it roleplay drama. You follow the leads, you examine the clues, you question the suspects and you solve the murder.
The campaign’s around 4/5 of the way to its goal with 29 days left to go.
