You can challenge Ultra Beasts in Raid Battles during the Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale event, which also features Special Research, several Pokémon debuts, special habitats and more

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

The one-day event features Special Research, several Pokémon debuts, special habitats, and more.

Savor the magic and wonder of Pokémon GO Fest for one more day! Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. During the event, the Ultra Beasts NihilegoBuzzwolePheromosa, and Xurkitree will appear in five-star raids. Additional event-themed Pokémon will appear in one- and three-star raids. Tickets are available now in the in-game shop for US$10.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). And if you attended the global Pokémon GO Fest event in June—good news! Trainers who purchased a ticket to the global event will be granted a ticket to the finale at no additional cost. Some parts of the event will be accessible to Trainers without an event ticket as well.

Want to give the gift of the Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale experience? Trainers who purchase a ticket for the event—or who purchased a ticket to the global Pokémon GO Fest event that took place in June—can purchase up to three tickets at a discounted rate of US$4.99 each. These tickets can be purchased through the in-game shop and gifted to Trainers you have achieved Great Friends or higher with.

Regardless of whether they have an event ticket, all Trainers can participate in a short Special Research story, experience four unique habitats that each last for two hours, and, if they’re lucky, be among the first to encounter a Shiny Munna in Pokémon GO! Different Pokémon will appear in the wild during each habitat period, so play throughout the day to make the most of the experience.

Many of the Pokémon that will appear in the habitats and raids—or their Evolutions—are popular in the GO Battle League, so this is an excellent opportunity to catch Pokémon such as Machop, Snorlax, Meditite, and Stunfisk.

All Trainers will also have access to the one-, three-, and five-star Raid Bosses, including the ultra-cool and ultra-powerful Ultra Beasts. Pheromosa will appear from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Buzzwole will be flexing from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Xurkitree will do its best to bring down the power grid from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Nihilego will be available to battle from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All times given are in local time.

Because these Raid Battles will be available in local time, playing with friends in different time zones can expand your opportunity to catch these Ultra Beasts. Prepare for these tough raids with tips for each Pokémon.

In addition to the short Special Research story available to everyone, Trainers with GO Fest 2022: Finale tickets will have access to three short, exclusive Special Research stories. Complete all three stories to earn in-game items, unique avatar items, and an encounter with Sky Forme Shaymin. Claim the first Special Research story at any point during the event—you’ll be able to complete it and the additional Special Research stories at any time.

Other bonuses available to Trainers with a ticket include the following.

  • Potential encounters with Shiny Unown N and Unown X for the first time in Pokémon GO.
  • Spin Photo Discs at Gyms for up to nine Daily Raid Passes that can be used for in-person raids.
  • Extra 5,000 XP for winning in-person raids.
  • Incense activated during the event will last two hours, and it may attract additional Pokémon, such as Unown, Torkoal, Tropius, and more.
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event.
  • Starting at 10:00 a.m., Trainers that have caught Sky Forme Shaymin can change it to Land Forme Shaymin, and vice-versa.
  • An increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon.
