It’s a little bit At the Mountains of Madness. It’s a little bit Murder, She Wrote. It’s Brindlewood Bay, a new cozy murder mystery RPG that’s up on Kicktarter now. Old ladies, all part of a book club, go around solving mysteries, the likes of which mankind was never supposed to witness. The game is up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
Brindlewood Bay is a tabletop roleplaying game that combines Murder, She Wrote with H.P. Lovecraft. In it, you play a group of elderly women, members of the local Murder Mavens Mystery Book Club, who help the authorities solve murder cases in a picturesque New England Town. Over the course of their investigations, they become aware of a dark occult conspiracy that connects the cases, and will eventually have to face that conspiracy in order to save their community. The game is low-prep and easy to play no matter your experience with tabletop roleplaying games.
We’re raising funds to create two hardcover books. The first is Brindlewood Bay, which includes the core rules for the game and 6 mysteries. The second is Nephews in Peril, a supplement that expands the game with new setting material and 10 new mysteries. Each book will be hardcover, full color interior, A5 size (roughly 6″x9″), and approximately 150 pages.
The campaign’s more than 16x funded with 31 days left to go.
