The Norse were known to have close ties with their gods. Some, went even further and formed pacts with them. These warlocks were granted special powers and abilities. And they can be yours as well with Norse Diety Patrons, a new RPG supplement up on Kickstarter now.
From the campaign:
Now you may be asking yourself; “Why Gods and Goddesses as Patrons?” Well the reason behind this is there were lots of the Old World Gods and Goddesses in the first edition thru third edition of DnD. They disappeared in the later versions. I still use them in my worlds, however as fifth edition is just a later time in the world of Faerûn, and they never mention these Gods and Goddesses dying, what happened to them. Well I am making this book to answer that question. As they don’t have many if any followers anymore their power is starting to wane, so to get their name back out in the world, they are reaching out to individuals whom do not have a natural ability for magic and granting them a small amount of their power to benefit themselves in the long run. This may be as simple as spreading their word similar to what a cleric or priest might do, or the individual Deity might have a greater goal or purpose they want the help of the warlock for, ultimately the contract is up the player and DM!!
I will be doing all the different Diety Pantheons. I rolled a random Die and landed on Norse, so here is the start with the Norse Pantheon! Hope you enjoy and help me spread this so I can continue my work!! I will be making a hard copy of this combined with the other pantheons, once I get thru them all!! The other pantheons I will be doing are Greek, Egyptian, Native American, Central American, Chinese, Celtic, Indian, Japanese, Sumerian, Babylonian, Finnish, and maybe Melnibonean, Nehwon, and Arthurian. The last ones are if others show Interest in them. If you pledge at one of the higher tiers, you will get credit and recognition in not only the pdf that I am producing now, but the eventual book when I get it printed as well.
The campaign’s up and running now with 18 days left to go.
