Niantic has announced a new event for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
During this monthly event, encounter lots of Spheal and evolve them into Walrein that know a pair of special attacks.
Spheal will be bringing some well-rounded fun to January’s Pokémon GO Community Day. On Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, you’ll find this Ice- and Water-type Pokémon more frequently in the wild, and if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one. Plus, if you evolve a Sealeo (the Evolution of Spheal) into Walrein during the event or up to two hours afterward, that Walrein will know two attacks it can’t normally learn: the Fast Attack Powder Snow and the Charged Attack Icicle Spear, which is making its Pokémon GO debut.
You can also look forward to some additional bonuses available during this Community Day. Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours, and you’ll earn three times the XP for catching Pokémon. And make sure to take a few snapshots during Community Day hours—you just might discover a surprise.
Tickets for the Spheal Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, The Spheal Deal, will be available in the in-game shop for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). There will also be a one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins that contains 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, five Lucky Eggs, and an Elite Fast TM. Plus, you’ll be able to pick up a bundle containing 30 Ultra Balls in the shop at no cost.
