Marvel Comics has announced the April launch of Legion of X and X-Men Red, two new series in the Destiny of X crossover arc (see “X-Men Enter the Second Krakoan Age“), for April.
Legion of X is a new ongoing series written by Si Spurrier with art by Jan Bazaldua. In the story, the team of Nightcrawler, Legion, Pixie, and Juggernaut, along with other characters including Blindfold, Dr. Nemesis, and more, are in the mutant nation of Krakoa, which faces some of the most dangerous internal threats it’s ever seen. The A cover is by Dike Ruan, and there’s a teaser variant cover by Bob Quinn. The first issue will street April 20.
X-Men Red spins out of the events of the Planet-Size X-Men one-shot, in which Mars was terraformed into a new home for the mutants of Arakko. Characters in the story include Storm, Magneto, Sunspot, Abigail Brand, Cable, Vulcan, and others. Al Ewing is writing the series, and Stefano Caselli will provide the art. Main covers will be by Russell Dauterman, who also designed a new costume for Storm. Two issues are planned for April: #1 on April 6, and #2 on April 27.
