Pew Pew – A Complicated Profession Sci-Fi RPG Up On Kickstarter

December 10, 2021 by Polar_Bear

Fainting Goat Games is expanding the Pew Pew RPG universe. They’ve got a Kickstarter campaign for Pew Pew – A Complicated Profession. It’s a rules-light sci-fi RPG all about bounty hunting in space. You can head over to the campaign and check it out now.

From the campaign:

Pew Pew! A Complicated Profession is a one-shot tabletop RPG for up to seven players (and one GM). It uses the same system (lightly modified) from Havoc Brigade by Grant Howitt. Many thanks to Grant for graciously agreeing to let us do that. (If you haven’t played Havoc Brigade – please check it out.)

It’s a sequel.  The original Pew Pew! (which was subtitled Bounty Hunters in Space) was successfully kickstarted in 2020 and is now up for sale on itch.io and DriveThruRPG

ACTUALLY, it’s a sequel to a sequel.  The first Pew Pew! sequel was subtitled For a Few Credits More was produced as a stretch goal on the initial KS in 2020. You can pick it up here.

It’s a rules-light roleplaying game, with everything you need to play (aside from dice and friends).

It’s light-hearted and intended for one shots; this isn’t a story about deep-seated emotional turmoil and tortured introspection.

It’s also great for new gamers, or playing online, because it’s easy to pick up and quick to play.

It’s a game about explosions and loads of big fights and ray guns and, maybe, maybe laser swords. It’s an excellent game to run at conventions or as an emergency pick-up game, because all the prep is already done – it’s baked into the system.

The campaign’s up and over their funding goal (being fair, they weren’t asking for much) with 29 days left to go.
