Today Mass Effect fans got a Geth-y glimpse of the poster for the new Mass Effect game, as well as some shocking stats.
This year’s N7 was a little more low-key than N7’s of past years–and for those of you wondering what I’m talking about, November 7th (N7) is typically used to celebrate the Mass Effect community because the month and day correspond to Commander Shepard’s rank. N, designating special forces, and 7 designating the highest level of proficiency–which for someone who has punched as many people in space as Commander Shepard has, is saying something.
But two big reveals today showed both the future of Mass Effect (at least a little) and just how many players would turn on Councilor Udina if given half a chance (I know I would.) First let’s look at the new poster, revealed earlier today on Twitter.
That is a big, exciting poster. And you can see some interesting details if you zoom out and if you zoom in. First up, look at the shape leading up to the crater–it looks suspiciously similar to the “head” of a typical geth body:
We also got a look at the new ship, which you can see in the bottom of the Geth’s “neck” — but then if we zoom in real close on a big fancy hi-res version of the poster (which you can download here) it looks like there’s something real interesting stashed away there…
It’s a little blurry–but it kinda looks like a geth as well. Some folks have said it’s maybe Legion, but that’s mostly speculation based on the barest hint of details gleaned from the trailer that released last year:
Who’s to say! At any rate, it’s sure to be a while before we know for sure. So why not speculate wildly? Speaking of, here’s a look at how the community has played Mass Effect over the years, with a statistical breakdown of the big choices made over the sequels:
Which reveals some interesting data–namely that a larger percentage of players recruited G4’s Diana Allers, than Garrus Vakarian. Which, if you think about it, explains why society is the way it is.
Happy N7 Day
