It’s Halloween in Pokémon GO! This remix of the iconic Lavender Town music will be playing nightly throughout the Pokémon GO Halloween Mischief event. Turn up your in-game sound, and enjoy the spooky vibes!

The Season of Mischief Story Continues!
Continue to follow the Season of Mischief storyline focused on the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa!
If you complete this Season’s Special Research story, you’ll gain access to a special event at the end of the Season that might have something to do with Hoopa!
A new part of the Season-long Special Research will unlock during each part of the Pokémon GO Halloween Mischief event. With more Psychic-, Ghost-, and Dark-type Pokémon appearing in the wild—along with new ones being discovered for the first time ever in Pokémon GO—this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the Mischief Pokémon!
Halloween Cup
The Halloween Cup will be available in the GO Battle League!

Special and Timed Research
A Special Research story—What Lies beneath the Mask?—will be available!
Ghost-type Pokémon are appearing more often than usual, and Professor Willow has tasked you with learning more about them. Notably, Yamask has started appearing in the wild, prompting his interest in learning more about Ghost-type Pokémon related to masks. What can we learn about these Pokémon—and what can we learn about ourselves in the process?
Timed Research will be available with tasks focused on participating in the Halloween Cup in the GO Battle League.

Halloween Mischief Part 1: Creepy Companions

The first part of Pokémon GO Halloween this year is themed around creepy companions: Psychic- and Poison-, type Pokémon that can’t wait to be encountered and befriended, as well as other friendly, creepy Pokémon. Galarian Slowking, the Hexpert Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut, and Shiny Spinarak will be appearing for the first time in Pokémon GO, too!
Season of Mischief Special Research Story Unlock
The next part of the Season of Mischief Special Research story, Misunderstood Mischief, will unlock.
If you complete this Season’s Special Research story, you’ll gain access to a special event at the end of the Season that might have something to do with Hoopa!
Strange Pokémon are appearing in Pokémon GO, including Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region like Galarian Slowking! Could this be a result of Hoopa’s rings? Let’s tackle this mystery together and learn more about Hoopa!

Galarian Slowpoke will now be able to evolve into Galarian Slowking!
To evolve it, set a Galarian Slowpoke as your buddy, and catch 30 Psychic-type Pokémon.*

Pokémon GO Halloween Part 2: Ghoulish Pals
Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time
The second part of Pokémon GO Halloween Mischief is called Ghoulish Pals! Ghost types will be appearing more often everywhere as we get closer and closer to Halloween. The spectacularly spectral Pumpkaboo and Phantump will make their Pokémon GO debuts, alongside their Evolutions, Gourgeist and Trevenant! We’re also getting word that you’ll be able to encounter Pumpkaboo of varying sizes, just like you can in the Kalos region. Gourgeist evolved from Pumpkaboo will also vary in size! During this time, intrepid Trainers can complete a Collection Challenge that’ll encourage them to seek these Ghost-type Pokémon!

The next part of the Season of Mischief Special Research story, Misunderstood Mischief, will unlock.
If you complete this Season’s Special Research story, you’ll gain access to a special event at the end of the Season that might have something to do with Hoopa!
Professor Willow has a frightening but eye-opening encounter with some Phantump and Trevenant in a forest! This reminds him that Hoopa is also a Ghost-type Pokémon, so perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to do more research on the spooky, spectral Pokémon around us.

New Size Mechanic
With the introduction of Pumpkaboo comes a new mechanic to Pokémon GO: Pumpkaboo that are larger will actually look larger in the game!
