Goatboy’s Warhammer 40K: Meet My GW New Orleans Open Army – ALL the Dreadknights!

There is nothing like playing hero hammer – so having 6 baby carriers of doom means I can wreck shop in New Orleans. Take a look!

The worst thing is I haven’t played the list much so I am going into this so fresh and so clean.  This most likely means a lot of mistakes and hopefully some forgiving opponents as I try muddle thru a game or two and get my order of operations right.  I wrote a cheat sheet and while I didn’t finish my character cards it is all set up and ready to go.  Plus – the whole dang thing is painted – check it below!

Onto the List

So anyway – here is the list.  To do 3 Dreadknight Characters I needed to take 3 detachments as each one has a different brotherhood.  Each one adds something to the army so I went with the Swordbearers, the Precient Brethren , and the Rapiers.  I tried to make each of the Dread Knight Characters somewhat unique either with a warlord trait or just how they are painted.  My favorite one is the converted one with a Knight Reaper Chainsword.  I used the sword for a Custodes Contemptor fix a few months ago so needed to find another sword.  I figured a Giant Chainsword is pretty dang cool.

The Cunning Plan

I have the Divination Warlord giving me a CP each turn hopefully so the low starting point is ok as I can generate 10 CP for a game if everything survives and goes my way.  From there I got a lot of bullets, a decent amount of tough bodies, and many ways to teleport around the table.  The teleporting will be what I need to do and it is why my Chaplain is set up to give +1 to casting Blessings versus making a unit go crazy into an enemy.  Being able to casts those Gates will be important.

Do you think I can hit that super sweet spot of winning more than losing? Wish me luck!
