There’s a set of Aeldari & CSM rumors doing the rounds. Take a look.
We’ve already seen that GW continues the march towards the Black Templars release. A big set of rumors on the Craftworld Eldar front dropped last month and it looks like the slow drip, drip, drip continues – this time including Chaos Marines as well!
But there’s a new set of Codex Aeldari rumors doing the rounds.
The New Aeldari (& CSM) Rumors
via Chapter Master Valrak over on B&C
- New Warpsmith
- New Chosen Squad
- New Rangers
- New Jetbikes (Don’t know what kind)
- New Autarch – Has a Melta Gun
“Again make of this what you will be this source has not been wrong yet.”
The Previous Aeldari Codex Rumors
Thoughts
First off some big picture stuff. There are no timeframes attached to these rumors. We previously saw a set of World Eater rumors that simply said “during 9th Edition”, so again even if true, this could be many months ahead.
These new rumors need to be taken in context with the previous set of unified codex rumors. Note that both mention a new rangers, and jetbikes. If you look carefully at both sets of info, it seems possible a new type of “Jetbike Ranger” unit may be coming our way – similar to the way you can take Guardians on foot on on bikes. I would guess these fill the uber fast, lightly armored role you see in the Star Wars Imperial Scout Bikers.
An Autarch makes sense as it is a common HQ that GW would wants to get out in plastic.
I can’t speak for any of the other rumors, but we all know modelwise – the biggest trouble spot for the Eldar range are the Aspect Warriors. Moving them all to plastic needed to happen last decade.
Last but not least, if the rumors pan out, those two CSM units are well overdue, and maybe just maybe tell us that CSMs wont bee too much further in 9th Edition. The Warpsmith is a fiddly Finecast octopus, while Chosen dont even have a current kit. Based on what GW can do with the Age of Sigmar Varanguard, blinged up Chosen could be amazing!
Something like this but with guns please!
~Until then – caveat emptor!
